Greater Conley Industrial CID Hosts Georgia Department Of Transportation District 7

On August 28th the Greater Conley Industrial Community Improvement District (GCI CID) hosted Georgia Department of Transportation District 7 Engineer Kathy Zahul and her staff, Assistant District Engineer Paul Denard and Area Traffic Operations Supervisor Edlin Regis, for a bus tour of the CID.

Joel Gross, President of the GCI CID led the tour as the CID discussed the various transportation issues of concern to its members. “The bus tour was designed to present to the state the various transportation challenges facing its business owners from a tractor trailer mobility, safety and accessibility standpoint” according to Mr. Gross.  “The bus tour allowed the CID board members to discuss its short and long term transportation plans and opportunity’s to partner with the state and DeKalb County in the future, which is critical to enhancing the economic environment of the largest logistics and distribution center in the county”, according to Gross.

The CID expressed its thanks to Ms. Zahul and her staff for their time in attending this tour and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with GDOT. Others attending the bus tour included David Pelton; Director of Transportation for DeKalb County, Larry Kaiser with Collaborative Infrastructure Services and Jay Scott with Greenrock Partners who are providing master planning consulting services to the GCI CID, and CID board members Joel Gross, Beverly Dabney & Wayne Smith.
